Are my coilovers assembled properly?

This is as far as the top will screw on, just wonder if they're assembled correctly. Also, the springs don't sit in anything (the ends) so I think they move when I turn the steering wheel - how do I stop this?

Also, as you can see, the metal pole sticking out at the top is quite short - I have to lift the hub up quite a lot just to get the top mount on a bit. I've tried pulling it out more but it's as far as it will go (or really stiff), any ideas?

Help needed asap cheers!

Re: Are my coilovers assembled properly? URGENT!

The silver plate, below the rubber bearing, needs pushing down more mate.

There is a hole in it that pushes over a slightly wider bit just below where it is at the minute, its currently catching on that I think.

If you remove the bearing, then have a little play to push it down futher it should move around an inch further down. Slightly awkward to do with 1 person though.

Should that plate slot onto the spring or be as it is now?

All looks right to me bar what I said above to be honest.

I may not be right, but had the same problem with loads of other coils, so I'm assuming!

I think that's as far as it'll go, pushed it right down and screwed it on and it just looks the same. Also the bit that's touching the screw is a bit higher than the bearing, meaning the bearing moves slightly up and down if I push it - is this normal?

clamp a mole grip on top and pull the shocker out

looks ok to me. If you're worried the thin nut isn't on far enough, get it on the car with some weight on it and try to do it up more.

The metal plate is as low as it can possibly go, the pole goes wider where it is to stop it going any lower.

Took the cnuts off now coz they were pissing me off, cheers for the advice :)
