Audio People: Speaker ring... not adapters, cork/foam rings for seating?

Do you buy these if they exist or should i stop being lazy and make them

I basically want some foam or cork rings that would sit on the edge of the rim to close any air gaps between the speaker and seating..

Cant find what im looking for,

Suppose sound deadening would be the same but im not looking for any unnecessary weight all be it small.

There are loads of air gaps in the door panel, its not a sealed unit, so it will make very marginal differences sealing the gap between speaker and door, just do the screw up tighter. if your getting vibrations get some dynamat in there

if you do want to seal it, go to hobby craft, I'm sure you would get some form of thin modelling foam which you could use.

Yeah i agree mate thinking about it, i know the whole door card would need dynamatting to sound half decent... ok yeah i forgot to say it was more of a rattle until i tightened the screws more, ill get some foam sheet and make some myself.

just to let you know dynamat is only going to stop any rattles in the metal, if its plastic that makes any noise your going to have to live with it, glue it down or turn the volume up

  Sell me your 197
we use foam cell to do this.

it comes in strips of 2M and is adhesive on one side, it's meant to be used for sealing up door cavities
