Average time to sell your Clio?

  Fiesta ST200
Just wondering if anyone else has sold their Clio before. How long did it take?

Maybe I'm just very inpatient but I've had my 200 up for a week and haven't had anything. Not a single call or text. Or even email for that matter.

It's priced competitively and has great spec.

Someone buy it! :(

Normally withini two weeks. Although my last car (phase 1) took a while, nice car too. A weeks not a long time dude

I find it depended on where I listed it, PH, here and Gumtree got me nada, within four days of being on Autotrader it had sold.

From what I've read on 197 and renaultsport sales are very slow unless its rediculously cheap, its worth waiting though its early days.

I suppose it isn't long at all.

It only becomes a problem if you paid £40 to advertise on auto trader and it doesn't sell by the time the advert expires. That is annoying.

It's on PH and Auto Trader so there's nothing more I can do really.

Totally depends really, took me a few weeks to sell my 172 but that was 7 years ago!

Sold my VW Lupo through the owners club within a few days of putting up an advert. Have also sold cars to friends/family really easily as I have a reputation for looking after my cars so when they've gone up for sale people have put the word round.

Yet when I was selling my Clio Grande back in 2003 I had to re-advertise it to get a sale.

I think the biggest problem for yourself will be the lack of Recaro's, to a lot of people they are the be all and end all.

Not everyone has got £11500 to spend on a car.Bank loans are not easy to get either so it's easier to go to a dealership and get finance for one.

Yeah eBay will take a couple of weeks max, definitely the way to go, albeit possibly better for cheaper cars.

Longest car that took to sell was my CRX, it was up for sale for 3 years!

i was looking for my first car... and my 197 actually at the start of winter. when i was asking for sport cars/hot hatches etc, pretty much every dealer said theyre pretty scarce that time of year, everyone wants bigger 'safer' cars lol

thats from a sellers pov

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
I think anyone with a used 200 unless its mega spec will struggle to sell at the moment, The market is very poor & now things are winding down for Winter-
The fact that your 200 is highish on miles, no recaros puts you at a disadvantage to a lot of other 200's out there-

To sell these days it needs to be cheap & high spec...

I would either try & PX it or drop the price to around 9-10k- as mentioned in the PM

I dont bother selling cars as its a pain in the arse. Much easier swapping for another car you want.

advertise for free on swapz and see what happens. I have done some amazing deals on swapz

Both the 172's that i've sold have gone within the week (2days and 5days).

The 200 got literally no interest. A dealer ended up buying it back off me. (Mine was pauper spec though)

Easier? Yes
Cost effective? No

The last car I sold was a 2005 Pug 307 HDI. Best part ex I could get against an R27 was £1200. I sold it on ebay with a no reserve auction for £2600 within 7 days. Part exchanging is just lining a dealers pocket. I wouldn personally only do it as a last resort.

With the new Clio all over the press, the old ones should already have plenty of value wiped off their sticker.

Remember, to 99% of the population, it's just a Clio.

the remaining 1% know it's a 200, but, then, it doesn't have Recaros. Do Not Want.

So you've got precisely 0% of the market interested in the over-priced, over-taxed, needy, fuel-hungry Clio.

I guess I'll put 6 months on it. A year is a bit excessive. Haha.

Ill drop the price to 10,995 shortly then.

Haha, very funny ;)

I just didn't feel the need for them. Standards are so supportive I didn't see the point.

Anyway, if anybody knows anybody. The price is now £10,995 and 6 months tax included.

It's a beautiful example. Can't believe I haven't had a single call.

I'd of rather had no calls compared to some of the clowns that rang me up when I was selling mine. I was undecided whether to sell mine or not, so when I first advertised it I was very optomistic on the price. Once I decided it was going and dropped it to a realistic price it sold within about 3 days.
