Bagde spraying

  Lupo GTI
I've had a search and can't really see anything in too much detail.
If I remove the badges (maybe only the front one, the back one seems a pain) what else would I need to spray it?

Would I need to sand the badge down or can I just primer it then spray?
Help needed as much as possible here :) newbie to spraying.

sand it down with some fine paper, it doesnt need much tbh.

Then hit it with some primer, i found filler primer the best to cover it, and then spray it as normal. When your happy with it, lt it dry fully and re fit it :)

Oh quick responses and photo's.
Both look great btw. :)
I'll give it a bash next weekend when I'm not at work.
Go get myself some paper, primer and paint now.

I didnt bother laquering mine, as i didnt want it shiney.

if thahs your front badge and you havent laquered doubt its gonna last too long to be honest. You can get satin/matt laquer from halfrauds or any other paint supplier. Gives it a really nice look and protects the paint at the same time

Dumb question

But would painting your badges (front diamond and door bullets) be something you'd have to notify your insurance about?

dumb question! :approve:

Im still none the wiser as to weather you should or not :eek:

After reading a thread with an insurance company being fussy over a RB with stripes i though i had better ask.

Although i cant imagine you'd have to. Better be safe then sorry! even if i do look a tit! lol

Do you have to sand down the front badge or could you not just simply spray it with a few coats of primer and then spray it with colour without sanding?

would be best to rough it up a bit as it is super slick when they are standard and the paint will not key to the surface very well.
