So running late for work and the car wont start :(. Hasnt been used for a few days. Opened ok, all lights on but turn it over and nothing. Lock/unlock just for something to do, no joy. So i thought f^&k it and got a lift in. But oddly when i left the car and remote locked it the cd player was on, which obviously it shouldnt be lol. New battery time?

The battery might have enough power for the radio and lights but not enough to turn the engine over.

I had pretty much the same thing happen to mine. Everything worked, even the windows worked but was very slow.

I replaced the battery and it was perfect again.

If you've got a multimeter you will be able to check if its the battery.

Will put the multimeter on it when i get home from work later. Battery prices are £30 so thats not too bad. Was a bit freaked out when i could hear music from somewhere until i realised it was coming from the car, very odd though, bloody french lol.

Dan don't forget to get the standard size battery 063 iirc, or you will have problems fitting the k-tec induction filter

Yeah sorted mate, 063 is what I got a quote on. I forgot the multimeter but used a jump pack took it off and let it run for ten mins. Pretty sure if the alternator was goosed it would have cut out?

The alternator will be fine. I drove about 10 miles when my battery was dead and it was ok. Battery wouldn't hold any charge tho and was dead as soon as I switched the car off.

Edit: If you are a bit concerned get the car running and then put the multimeter on the battery, it should be in the 14s if the alternator is working fine.

All sorted, battery on, alternator seems to be fine. Ecp sent the wrong size battery out, new one turned up (063) and was cheaper at 22.74 inc vat, bargain :)
