best gaming laptop?

Do you really need a laptop to play the games? If the laptop is not essential, i'd go for a high spec desktop machine.

my lass wants a laptop for xmas so thought i'd mays well get a good 1, bin me pc as it slow as hell, i'll have the extra space in my room as well

Not sure on the price, but the Dell XPS range are good. We've got a couple of those at work and they run games pretty well. They were both a couple of grand each though.

I've got an old Acer Ferrari which looks crap in red but still runs stuff okay. Could use a little more ram though.
