Bloody women

Quick question..

a women drove into my car the other leaving a small but noticable dent in the front bumper. It's just on the lip above the number plate. initially she said she'd be fine covering any costs, but when i gave her a quote from a local bodyshop (£130 for correction and bumper respray), she said she's not happy to pay that and included a link to a mobile repair company. The question(s):

is the quality of repair from these companies perfect (or as good as so not to notice)?

Am i within my rights to push for a full bodyshop correction and respray?

Cheers

Can't comment on the mobile repair companies, but if you want a full correction from the body shop I'd say its fair. I'd tell her you want it doing there so you know its right and if she doesn't pay you'll involve the insurers.

yup she has admitted that she was at fault so i would push for the bodyshop as then you know its a full propper respray and not just a spray and blend in job by the local mobile sprayers, their wor can be good but its all about the skill in blending.

She damaged your car, so she should return it back to how it was. TBH I think shes being cheeky trying to skimp on the cost and possibly quality when its not up to her to decide.

Tell her to sort it, or you'll be going through your insurance.

She has admited damaged to the car and offered to pay to correct any faults. TBH i would want it in a body shop. What did she think the repair was? A quick touch up with some lippy?

Take it to a proper bodyshop and tell her she's paying. Do not use mobile repair companies, especially on a black car.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
you will never get as good a paint finish from a mobile repair as a proper bodyshop-
Mobile sprays are ok for lower valences / front lips/ splitters- but for the top of the bumper its got to be a bodyshop-
I would blend the top quarter of the bonnet as well- lose a few of your stone chips

At the end of the day you should always! involve insurance even for small things, she could simply say it never happend now and your f*cked. It will go into stale mate on the insurance and nothing will happen, then it will go against you at the renewal.

I had a small dent repaired in the door of my old silver BMW by a mobile repairer. It looked to be fine at first until I looked at it in a certain light. The problem is they don't blend anything. They just paint the damaged area and about a 4" circle around the damage giving you a totally different colour in the middle! It looked worse after the repair, silver door with a grey bit in the middle! Ended up getting a bodyshop to fix it and complained to the mobile repairer.

I have two witnesses that were present when she admitted hitting my car. I'm sure she's not gonna deny liability, just trying to haggle the cost. I gave her two quotes, the bodyshop offering the cheaper quote doesn't provide a courtesy car like the more expensive one did. My car will be off the road for 2 days, me and my girlfriend only have one car... yet i still told her we'd go with the cheaper one. She can't say i'm taking the p#ss.

Chris... that sound's sh#t and the exact reason i thought bodyshop

I'll give her a day, if she's not responded, im getting insurance on the phone.

if its her fault, and you claim on her insurance (rightly so may i add) she could have to pay her excess (even if shes not claiming) and i bet thats more then £130...might be worth pointing out mate.
