I have a BMC fitted to mine. Really hard to fit I thought. Had to by a samco bend for it too fit. Anyone have the same problem. Also the CAF tubing is a very tight fit

You have to hack a lil bit off either end of the 90 bend to get it in easy part from that gives a sweet sound ! well does on my Mk3 1.6 ne way :)

Can you leave the acoustic valve in and cap the pipe, and find a new place for the cold air feed? if so does anybody know where i can put the CAF pipe and were the best place is?

the good thing about the BMC is that mine could fit on all the standard internals, even the renault cold air feed.

I removed all the standard CAF and acoustic valve, and used a samco bend and some 80mm CAF from ebay.

Relatively easy to fit (and i'm s**t at car mechanics!), only prob was persuading the CAF to fit past the back of the headlight....ran mine down so it rests on top of the horns in the wheelwell.

I found it easier to pop the arch liner out to get access btw.

Here's my 172 fitted with the BMC induction kit. It wasn't too bad to fit. I already had the blue samco hose fitted to the car, but had to cut it down slightly to get the air box in and leave enough room behind the radiator for the CAF. I decided not to use the hose that came with the kit because it wasn't very flexable and I could see how it would ever fit into the limited space, so I bought some very flexable ducting hose and used that instead and conected it to the original CAF location.

The bracket that holds the air box will need to be cut and bent into shape to fit because it comes as a long flat piece of metal with the holes pre drilled.

Hope this helps .:)

Yeh, it sounds sweet when you boot it! I've got a K-tec stealth system fitted too so that certainly helps!

Where is that smaller tube going, from the elbow of the Samco hose!?

just a breather pipe to the back of the engine mate, there's one on the original bend.

Well want to order one of these now

Let us know what you think of yours mark

Surely your going to loose responsive's/power from those harsh bends in the cold air feed? the aim from spending alot of time reading up on this is to get the least amounts of bends as possible, hence why throttle bodies work so well - 0 bends
