They do more damage than they prevent, they look awful and I will laugh at any car (and its driver) with one fitted. Always fitted to sheds as well, where money is spent on pointless modifications instead of the upkeep of the car.

Had one on my Corsa D, only over the winter as the amount of salt they spread on my hill and how often they done it was a joke. Put cling film underneath it doesn't damage the paint. Got mine from autobra. But if you're serious about modding your car, don't have one permanently. Some cars it suits, others it doesn't.

The thing with bras is they cover things up that shouldn't be. If you get one you'll look at your car and rip it off quicker than your missus's.
