Just need to take the bonnet insulation off and then you'll fail driveby noise limits on most tracks in the UK.

How does it run with the stacks?

Get some videos up mate! It go much better?
Will try to mate. Yeah does feel like it opens up much easier might just be me thinking it though.

Looks great! Nice and oem too
Thanks mate that’s what I was hoping to get.

It probably won’t ever see a track tbh.

Runs good not had any problems with it tbh. Just use a lot more petrol now

So I had a xenon bulb on the passenger side that was a different colour to the driver side. Bit more yellow but looked rubbish in the dark. So got two new bulbs and sidelights.

Then nothing else has happened apart from giving it a clean today and looking back and realising how good it looks.

I reckon it looks spot on, CSL's suit them so damn well! Loving the stacks too, they look OE under there
Thanks mate ! Yeah always loved CSLs and love the fact they can be the deeper concave on the m3s. Thanks I’m pleased with the stacks and the noise is very addictive. Turns a few heads for sure...

Also stupidly got a price from Bmw for a CSL bootlid and all the bits to fit not ordered yet as still a few bits I want to get done.

The side repeaters may seem a small thing to do, but make a huuuge difference IMO. When I had my old E46 325i Sport I too got genuine BMW ones and got rid of the cloudy old things, has to be done!

Yeah they are small but when you stand back and compare them to how yellow the old ones were, makes a big difference in my eyes.

Got a few more small updates coming this week to...

  BMW 330ci
So few more updates done this week

Led interior lights
New passenger headlight
Powerfold mirrors fitted (still got to split my old ones down and put the motors in them as there in better condition)

So sorry for the overload of pics but gave it a good clean today. Usual process.

That looks awesome, bet the sound is unreal now!

Do the stacks not end up heat soaking a lot does the better airflow over the standard air box out weigh it?

Sounds unreal tbh. Better than I ever expected. Still fairly quiet until you plant your right foot. Then it sounds awesome.

No I don’t believe they do. There’s a cold air feed going from the bottom fog direct to the stacks. And I’ve also adapted the front airflow part, just cut a small bit out to force the airflow into the stacks. Sometimes isles fairly rough when warming up, that can be rectified by a proper map. But tbh once you get driving there’s no issues at all. Just amazing sound. Turns so many heads, quite funny tbh. Just plodding along then all of a sudden hit the right foot, changes down a gear and the heads nearly fly off. Sad I know.

Definitely a good alternative to a carbon box. Admittedly the carbon boxes probably look better. But I just couldn’t justify the price of them.

Coated some of the interior plastics in gtechniq C4. Absolutely great stuff and should last. Surprising how far the small bottle goes and still have a bit left to top up when needed.

Cleaned the metal behind the panel.

Also put my original mirror cases on. Much better quality compared to rattle can. Could get the bases on due to wiring being a pain. So when I eventually find a good bumper planning on getting that resprayed and the mirror bases now I know how to split them.

Not updated this for a while, decided to take the car off the road for the winter as I had a few things I wanted to get done on the car. Plus change in job meant travel has increased to 60 miles a day so decided to take it off the road and get the train to work.

Wheels are off being refurbed in hyper silver as ever since I purchased them they had kerb rash and some worse than others. So took the wheels off. Also purchased some new Michellin Pilot Sport 4S in CSL sizes. Expensive but will be worth it hopefully and the wheels did need new tyres. Will update with pictures once wheels are back.

CSL alloys really do freshen the look of them up. Always fancied a set for mine but never got round to it.

Looking forward to updates.
Thanks mate. Hopefully getting wheels back Friday. They wasn’t too bad but curbing rash annoyed me. So wanted them perfect and they needed tyres.

Always loved the CSL’s, had them on my 330 but so much better on the m3 with the deeper concave. Freshens them up.

I've never missed a car so much as I do my M3
I really don’t know if I could sell this tbh. Love everything about it.

Wheels back with new tyres mounted. Look fantastic, just gone for a basic shiny silver exactly the same as before. Quality is great and was only £160 with new tyres mounted and balanced and the blokes shop is literally at the back of my house was a new place so thought I’d give it a try. Also I know there only tyres but I really feel the Michelin’s add to look the look and make them look better. Also look much better with the correct CSL size tyres.

Just need new bolts, maybe spacers and new bmw badges. M badges are new.

Only picture in the dark

Still love the concave on these, I know everyone has these wheels on an m3 but I think they just work.

I've just got a couple of 4S's to try on the back of mine once it's back from being repaired.

Silver grey is such a good colour!

Yeah hoping there going to be good quality and last a while for the price. And yeah definitely shows off the curves and shape of the car well.

Lovely, the refurb has made a big difference! I have no idea why anyone chooses any other colour than hyper silver for wheels.
Thanks yeah, they was okay before but kerb rash was annoying me so I thought I’d get them done now hopefully the winter is gone. And yeah now keen when people have them the darker colour I don’t think they suit it especially against silver grey.

So steering wheel still looks as good as when I bought it. However can get covered in grime every now and then and as I was taking the trims off as they need painting again. Thought I’d take the wheel with it to give it a clean just with pears soap.

Just a generic quick clean. Also new wheel bolts turned up. And new wheel badges but haven’t fitted them yet.

d519b4d50390551db594cdf187f2b9e0.jpg

Also managed to spend £500 on bits at bmw. Nothing amazing just doing a bit of a tidy up underneath and new steering wheel trim as mine was painted and just didn’t like it. Also had to get a new headlight level sensor, AGAIN. Really are a bad design. And got a new engine cover plastic for underneath as mine was always missing.

Also took the underside plastics off, cleaned them and they look much better now.

Thanks.

  BMW 330ci
So the bits from bmw arrived:

New underside engine cover (mine was always missing)
New v brace
New exhaust holders/ mounts
New steering wheel lower trim
New denim headlight level sensor

Amazing how quick the total price adds up lol.

Also cleaned my other underside plastics, this is by no means any form of underside restoration. Just bits I wanted to tidy up as they were badly corroded.

The new wheel trim in black, didn’t fancy the Titan as I have no other Titan silver pieces and personally feel it ties in better with all the other plastics, however colour looks a tiny bit different from the top controls but may have meant to be like that or if the top has wore.

Not sprayed them or anything here just put meguiars tyre trim on them as only stuff I really had.

Now just need to find time to re fit them. Need to also order some new fittings for the plastics.

Thanks.

That wheel centre cap being misaligned against the ///M badge on the wheel makes me twitch.

Otherwise, very very nice (y)

I was thinking that the interiors haven't changed that much at all (tech aside) from yours to mine...then recently a friend sent me pictures of a mint E28 M56 and I reaslised that nothing much has changed since way back then. even the pedals, from the E28, to your E46, and my 1 series are identical the whole way through. I guess they got it right first time around.
