i get my stuff from this place that deliver parts to garage cant remeba what its called. but their only about £13-14 at the most..

wats so speical about OMP ?

dont buy the omp ones , you would be better off having dog s**t on toast btween your calipers.

ebc green stuff or some oem ones if you are looking to buy of ebay imo

I have herd horrible reports about them , if you are going to get them from ebay it must be either oem ones or greenstuff

i really am on a serious budget so just going to try the OMP ones just ordered some!! they got to be atleast as good as std i reckon!!

will be interested in hearing your verdict on them as so many warned me off them when i changed my pads.

I had changed my pad to EBC green yesterday. And I found my old one is actually Ferodo DS2500!! But I just change it even my old pad can still work.

Well, EBC is good from what I tried afterward.

OMP? No sure, they are famous but not in brake. Mintex and Ferodo is famous I think.

OMP are the worse pads ever created, 10times worse than standard pads, you've wasted your money there chap!

well they say its the compound they use for rallying and racing and i know they have a good name in that so i will let you all know!! There the fast road/sport pads

sounds like you have bought a car you cant afford to maintain, did you not check these things beofre you bought it two days ago ? I always check the condition of the pads/ disks before i buy

  Civic Type R EK9
yeh the discs and pads were fine as far as i could see they had like 3mm left but it was the inside ones!!!

Where do i get oem discs from and how much then fred?? lol i can afford to run it as my racing puma before cost alot more!! its all just come at once!!

My dad will ring them up 2moro and make them pay for it as its unsafe to sell a car like it!! they always take younger people for a ride!

  Civic Type R EK9
if i cant find any std ones i will plus im hoping that my dad gets the discs and pads replaced by the t**t!! as it wasnt fit for purpose when he sold the car

if i cant find any std ones i will plus im hoping that my dad gets the discs and pads replaced by the tw*t!! as it wasnt fit for purpose when he sold the car

Was this a private sale ?

If so he owes you nothing I'm afraid. "Sold as seen" is how private selling works.

If it was from a garage then fair enough, get what you can from them.

  Civic Type R EK9
yeh it was a garage!! www.performance-direct.net my old Racing puma is on there for sale!! he knocked me down £500 for bonnet pins and mudflaps yet hes selling it like it!! My dad thinks they wouldnt be allowed to sell it like it!! pads were fucked!! now the discs are bare iron on the inside!!

take the car back and make them pay for new brakes all round and a full service as they sold you the car in a unsafe condition if they wont do that for you threaten them with trading standards or the small claims Cort no garage worth any thing would sell a car that is unsafe i know a local garge by me that has all his cars chekted over and repaired by a independent garge .

you wont go far wrong with the brembo high crab discs they are a beter quality than the renault oem disks and believe it or not they make Renault's disks for them but in a different factory than the high carbon disks .

pads are down to your own choice and how much you want to pay for them and what you want to do with the car .

i have got performance friction 97 pads that are £115 / brembo high carbon disks / monoqip braded hozes and omp rear pads on the back but you can put any thing on the back the rear brakes as the rear's dont do much

  Welcome to the L4yer
Had a similar thing happen to me when I bought my first clio, a 172 cup. All the tyres had about 1 mm tread and the tracking was well out. Had to do the tyres at a Kwik Fit cos it was unsafe. Went back to dealer to complain. According to trading standards because I didn't give them a chance to rectify they don't have to refund me any costs incurred. In the end they gave me £100 which was about a third of the cost of 4 new tyres and alignment. Hope you have a better experience than me!

yeh i wont take it anywhere to get done make them do it!! like i said one is on wear bars other tyre is about 1.5-2mm but i want both changed

  Clio 172 mk2
Definately sounds likr the brakes were shot which is bad trading really.

I would take it further
