Brakes/Pads replacement - Which ones?

  1eight2
As above, my discs are just about gone and I don't think my pads have much life either.

What are a decent/budget replacement for a fast road car, no track days planned for 12 months?

Brembo discs seem pretty cheap online.

Its not a big job but it is one that can kill you if you get it wrong!

Don't let the fluid resavoir run low or you shall end up with an airlock in the abs pump, which takes some getting out lol

Go for G172. No messing at all.

Brembo HC discs are fine, better than standard, ds2500's are superb pads once warm and if you drive enthusiastically often. However they give off a lot of dusts and squeak a little when cold.

Is it a big job replacing brake fluid?

P.M'd G 172 on here and he replied very fast with a range of competetive prices!

Go spend £20~ on a gunson easy bleed kit, you can bleed the brakes on your own then in under 20 minutes and it'll be perfect.

Done this, My brakes have bever been the same again :-/

Chances are because the new pads have more material on them, when you wind the pistons in the level will rise so
You won't have to top up the level unless it's below min.

Letting the level drop below min is only something you worry about when flushing through with new brake fluid.

If your brake pedal feels firm and your happy with the performance of them with the new discs and pads you don't HAVE to change the fluid, it's just a good idea because over years of use it can boil/diminish.

Seriously though with an Easy bleed kit its childs play, just dont let the level get below minimum in the filler bottle that is supplied. Easy
