just had my cambelt changed and have noticed a big improvementon my acceleration. Is it just me or do cambelts increase performance?

they dont improve performance. did you have a service at the same time? if so that might of helped

Just a standard cambelt change from a mates garage no service (that i know of) was done to the car at the time

old cambelts can stretch a small amount over the 60/70,000 miles theyre on the car,can be equivalent to being a tooth or two out on timing, so when they shove a nice new one on and line up all the timing marks it probably feels like power increase but in reality its just timed up better than before.....same happened to me....
