Car broken in to :(

Hi all,

Parked my Cup at my local gym today at about 4:30 pm like I do four times a week, every week. Half way through my workout, "Member anouncement, would the owner of a blue Renault Clio, registration LX..." Im already running to reception!

One of the fitness instructors takes me to my car to show me the rear screen smashed out completely and some nasty dents and scratches where theyve wacked the window on the side a few times and whatever tool they have used has slipped.

Looks like theyve lifted the parcel shelf looking for an amp and sub or some other tasty I.C.E but there is none. I actually dont think there was 1 thing in the boot so nothing has been stolen.

Ill post a pic tomorrow.

Im gutted, but then also happy that I am able to afford nice things (and bloody repairs) because I work hard, whereas they are thieving pikey scum, and they will continue to be for the rest of their lives!

Jon: Well I had no idea that you could claim for glass without affecting your no claims bonus so thats what Im doing. The rear screen costs around £330 and then the dents will need filling or something. Im not sure of the total cost but the autoglass guy is coming at 8am so better get some sleep.

I tried the, "Can I borrow the Noble to go to the pub in?" No luck

OLLZIE: I go to LA Fitness in Purley. Praying itll never happen again.

Makes me feel much better after posting. At least Im not alone in the war against pikeys.

Oh yes I forgot to mention that I can pick up the tape for the police to look at tomorrow. Theres a fairly good shot of the car, but havent seen the crime happen yet as they change the tapes at midnight. Ill let you all know what happens.

Thats exactly it mate - theres no point worrying about it too much, you have to think that this is what the scummy little fcukers do for a living and it cant be the nicest of ways to live. you on the other hand have a nice job and can afford bits....

(and pay tax to keep these pikeys topped up, but dont get me started on that one!)

My girlfriends 106 gti was broken into whilst at a lesuire centre, we both walked back to our cars it was just out to f luck i quickly drove other the other side of the cart park to pick up my trainers id left in her car,

When i go there she was in tears because some c**t had bent all her passanger door out, its her pride and joy and she had saved for ages for the car, it was gutting 1) to see her car like that and 2) to see her so upset and gutted!!

Nothing was taken bizarely! but i was at boiling point if id seen them i sware i would of done somthing stupid i was more than FUMING!!

Well I have a new rear window now.

Spoke to the police and they said that 3 cars were hit in Purley train station yesterday. "One of them was a Renault Clio Sport!" He said.

"Thats what I have." I replied. The copper told me that the 172 that got broken into had 2 grand of I.C.E in the back, so thats probably why they singled my car out too, they had a real success earlier that day with the same car.

Turns out its a male and female in a red G reg Metro (stolen) doing it, so Ill be looking for them on the CCTV later on when I pick up the tape. Probably crack-heads looking for quick cash.

Trouble is I have to go to the same car park to get the tape - cant drive the Clio there because the glue is setting, so taking the Noble there. My dad will be on guard waiting with it while I go in - taking no risks this time!

Ill post later on with my findings.

They did that to my Dads car. What they do is go around looking at nice cars and expect there to be something decent in the boot... subsequently, my Dads laptop got nicked! The police reckoned that they have these little scanning devises that pick up electrical appliances in cars, so thats why whenever a window is broken something expensive gets broken... you were lucky- they were just amatures, but still pricks!

Sorry to hear whats happened, my Clio had its window smashed and nothing taken (even though my wallet was in the car), it just seemed like a random for the hell of it thing.. pricks!

I think if the Noble was parked next to the Clio, they would have still broken in to the Clio. Thats the one likely to be full of goodies.

Thank you all for your kind words - I was upset, but hey, it seems most people here have been a victim of this kind of thing at least once. At least Im not a heroin addict like the pricks who broke my window.

I would like to see the idiots try and steal the ice from my boot. Its all incased in half a ton of 18mm MDF (my brother gets a bit MDF happy, bit like that toffy nosed tw*t from changing rooms).

So even if they got into the boot, they couldnt actually get anything quickly, and i would like to see how far they get with all that MDF under their arm!

Damn shame when like me you dont have ICE due to the theft issue and then you get broken into anyway. Makes me think about removing my parcel shelf so they can see with their own eyes. I wouldnt even change the head unit for fear that they might think there is more out of sight.

I have CCTV outside my house. Got some video capture photos of various scumbags up to no good and put them on a floppy. The floppy is inside a DVD case in my glove box. The DVD case has a sticker on saying "my bank account details and pin codes", the same is written on the floppy. There is a text file on the floppy in which I type something like "smile you mailto:w@nkers">w@nkers, your on CCTV"!!!!! If my car gets broken into I pray it is outside my house and that they have a PC and an appetite for more theiving!!

The alarm did go off (although I didnt hear it as I was in the gym). Once I got back to my car and pressed the key button, the 4 beeps sounded to say an intrusion took place.

*** UPDATE ***

Checked the CCTV footage today and sure enough, its the male and female in the stolen G reg Metro the copper told me about.

Not enough info to nick them on my case alone, but they have done 3 other cars, and another car got done today in the same car park (probably them again), so there are a whole load of cases linked to them.

There is hope.

Anyway the rear windscreen is fixed and the car is booked in at Renault to have the damaged paintwork caused by the broken glass to be sprayed. All for the good old fashioned price of £60.

Royal Sun Aliance are firmly in my good books.
