Clio 172 loud tickover.

Just bought a clio 172 and am a little worries about a whirrring sort of sound....not too sure if its meant to sound like it, sounds like a transmission whine when selecting lower gears before a corner. any help much appreciated.

Mine rattled when I got it, only when hot though. Turned out to be the dephaser pulley. Check YouTube for some videos of the noise.

could be aux belt tensioner or lower idler pulley
