Clio 197 warped front disc

  Clio 197
Well the 197 failed it's mot today :-( warped o/s front disc! Ordered some Brembo discs and some Pagid pads. Couldn't find any Brembo pads to fit. £115 in total which I didn't think was too bad. Was gonna be £210 or so for the bits from Renault. Hopefully they'll be ok. Fingers crossed. Car's only done 29k so I'm a bit annoyed at having to change them. That's the fun of cars I guess!

29k isnt bad for a set of brakes imo, good luck with the pins cant be a real pain in the arse sometimes.

another one, standard story i'm afraid, clean the calipers and you will have to take some material off the back plates to make sure they're free in the calipers so that they don't bind on in future

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
You won't be disappointed with those Pagids, fitted a fair few sets to 197s and 225's now (as well as loads of 172/182's), and they're brilliant. Probably would have used Pagid disks too (not that it really makes any odds)

Definitely have new pins to hand before removing the old ones, they bend so easily if they're corroded in

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I really appreciate it. I suppose I better collect some new pins then just in case. I'm hoping they'll come out ok as there doesn't appear to be any corrosion (on the side you can see with the wheel on at least...lol) The bloke at the m.o.t garage seemed to think they'd come out ok if you can get a good drift neatly on the end. We shall see how it goes...
