know this has been covered many times before. but i just wanted to know a few simple thing as im sort of gettgin quotes:

how much could i pick up a fairly good running engine for?

if i supplied the engine and all the bits how much would fitting be roughly? would they change any engine parts in the process?(ie. headgasket?)

i emailed gdi but i havnt recieved a reply yet.

get a donor car

it will be FAR FAR cheaper and easier for all concerned

i got a runner for £300 an think i sold it for £100 maybe more without any engine, master cylinder (sold to someone), or the dials.....maybe the odd other bit too

as above get a doner car so you have all the parts you need.find a local firm who will carry out the conversion and who know what there doing as well.

jarvis, I pmd you last night my friend!....

if you want the engine rebuilt then yep the internals are changed, all depends of your budget and what you are trying to achieve.

if you want a reliable 200 bhp (for example) then a rebuild is almost mandatory....!
