  K20 EG Hatch

Last night two pence piece fell inside the vent thing of my dash(mk2 ph2).

Now whenever i take a sharpish turn i hear it go from one side to the other which is so f**kin anyoin!:devilish:

Is there any easy way I can get it out without takin the dash top off as it surely cant have gone far!

i really hope i dont have to take the dash off!

reckon i will be able to swing the car to get the coin over the passenger side and then undo the screws on the passenger side and just liflt the passenger side up? Or should i be able to see it throughthe vent that it fell down? Is it likely to be dead far down now?

If its anything like the 172, it has to come off all in one go, you cant just lift that side up. Plus be careful if you have a passenger airbag.

you could buy one of those grabber claw things

as long as it will fit down the vent and you can actually see the coin

you can get em for about £4 at the larger Motor Worlds

gonna have alook at dinner time and see if i can actually see the coin, i couldnt last night but it was dark and i was using my phone light an that int that good, if i can see it i will try one of them grabber things!

You wont be able to lift one side, you have to slide it forwards before it will lift, also youll have to remove the a pilar cover!

Ive had to remove the dash before.. as long as you disconnect the battery , leave it for 15 mins, and then remove it.. should all be good. Just remember that your need teh Radio code for when you reconnect the battery.

No need to do that, youre not touching the airbag!

If its in the vent then surely its in the vent tubing and that rather than just behind the dash top?

So surely its a dash top off job then a bit of driving to get it to one side followed by faffing around?

has anyone got a pic of the vent tubing? i wanna see how it looks so hopefully it is sealed at either end?
