Coolant question

  172 Exclusive

Was giving my car a quick check today and noticed that my coolant level is just on the min line.

Any recommendations as to which coolant should i use and where can i get it from?

Cheers

^^as above - your 172 will prob have decent stuff in already so a little dilution wont hurt! Could also get a small bottle from renault....cheap enough (sub £10 i think)

there are different types of coolant and some dont mix, so dont just put anything in, yours should i presume have the Renault stuff in it, so id go to the dealers and buy that

Just watch the level after youve topped it up. If it drops again within a month or so, then theres likely to be a small leak.

dont want to tell you how to suck eggs, but check it when the cars at full running temp and youll find its above the minimum level due to expansion...

You should check coolant when the engine is stone cold.. it should be on the MAX line when cold and rise roughly 1cm above the max when hot. Use renault stuff as you know its correct.

Mine was losing a little; but have replaced the expansion tank cap, heard it hissing slighlty - now sorted - 3quid from reno!!
