Do you have a price range in mind?

The snap-on stuff is epic, but its lots of money.

For a cheap option that works well for basic stuff, clarke do one for around 100 quid that comes with two batteries, thats what I used on trackdays for wheel changes etc.

Ive also got a dewalt one but that was a little dearer, not convinced its enough better than the clarke to justify the cost.

Been a few threads on these mate, sounds like you want one for use like I did so the cheapy Clarke one from machine Mart fitted the bill..

Obviously snap on ones etc are better, ie lighter more powerful last longer but around 3times the price!

I can get snap on and sealey through work. Snap on was silly money so that's out. I'll investigate the sealey one tomorrow. Chip I'd say really up to £200 or there abouts. Cheers guys.

For 200 the dewalt one is about the right money IIRC they are about 140 but then you have to buy battery and charger seperate.

Where abouts are you from mate?
If its anywhere near me you can borrow the clarke one for a week then the dewalt one for a week and see which you prefer?

Jealous! I bought the older one in December when my dealer announced it'd be doubling in price. But he didnt mention there was a new one and how sexy it would be :( love the new trigger too

So I have ordered a Sealey rechargable impact gun (300lbft hope that will be sufficient), Torque wrench, cordless angle grinder (don't need to use this alot) and some gloves (they were thrown in). The whole lot just under £250.

Will the 300lbft impact gun be enough torque?

If you want to do undo crank pulleys or wheel bearings then probably not, but for just about everything else yes no problem at all.

If you are using it on wheel bolts you can get a special socket that twists to prevent over torqueing them.

Looking at new as my work place supplies the sealey and snap on ones. Means if there is an issue I know I'll get a refund or replacement.
