Crashed :(

  Skoda Fabia vRS

cars definitely a write off

came to a mini roundabout, i was goin through, pick up van was opposite and indicating right, both of us were travelling towards the roundabout, not stationary, instead of going around the roundabout he jus cut across it, if he had gone around i would have made it on my way, but, you have to give way to your right dont you, so.............im probably stuffed

anyone any idea how much its likely to cost to buy the car ?......as its got a lot in it i could sell, including the engine, but its probably not gonna be worth the hassle is it ? :(

cant really think of anythin at the moment so ill post later on properly

jus really really gutted

glad were both ok, jus some chest pains from the seat belt, neck is slightly stiff but im not goin down the whiplash route ill live !

Gutted to hear that bud. Thats not good news. Were there any witnesses that would possibly help you out as the other driver DID cut across the mini roundabout?

I hope you get it sorted ASAP with minimum fuss dog.

sh*t mate sorry to hear about it.

I wouodlnt let the insurence company touch it personally.....can you manage wihtout their payout, once they have it and they have brought it off you technically they are VERY relectant to seel it back nowadays. CIS policy is that they wont sell written off cars back, full stop

i dont think so mate, i didnt get any names etc, i know i should have but i was more concerned that my g/f was ok at the time

Gutted for you Brun - so much work in that car...but at the end of the day you can walk away from it and get your next one - not like people!

it all hangs on how much they pay out mate

the conversion IS declared, and a few months back i checked thoroughly with them about it being covered, spoke to someone in claims who said if i had receipts id get it back, which i have

hopefully, ill get a decent payout

im still really gutted though, it was my first car, had it almost 4 years IIRC, and a lot of time, money, and effort has gone into it

:(

feel ur pain mate...

my car was a write off, 5 months after GDI 2.0 conversion - i was only covered 3rd party, fire and theft...

i didnt claim, so had to foot a bill for my car - which was a write off - for 2 grand, for his car, 2 grand, and then for my fine, and points 400 quid... so in total the accident cost me 4.5k...

my advice/experience that i can give you is - give it 3 months, and ur be settled again - like yourself brun, i was soo glad my girlfriend wasnt in the car (she would be dead now) - and in your case, she is ok.

Had a massive arguement wiht them....turns out car had structural damage anyways, but they said no before it had been asessed, they were quite happy for me to get my mods out of it/off it though

Guttin for you fella...know how much its cost ya to have/keep it on the road...

Fingers croseed ull get a good payout.

Not as cut and dry as that mate, you claim that if hed have used the round-a-bout properly, you wouldnt have collided. So seeing as he cut the round-a-bout in half, he is in fact in the wrong, its as though he was turning right and cut the junction and hit you.

If the police were involved they would have to look at the facts in front of them, and if they did their respective jobs right, they will have seen certain things pointing in your favour, such as skid marks on the round-a-bout, and if there wasnt any marks on the road, he didnt brake, but tyre marks would be on the road, so the case should be in your favour
