Cruise control

  Clio Sport xxx
I notice on the way to work this morning my cruise control suddenly decided not to play :S

Why would it have done this. . . is there someway i might have accidently disabled it or something?? And before the obvious is said, yes i have tried the cruise/speed limit switch to the right of the steering wheel

Cheers

A few people on her had problems with the actual switch on the dashboard and had that replaced.

Sorry to dig up an old thread......

I have done two long trips recently, great time to use the cruise i thought!

But, on the way during the trips i try to 'arm' the cruise by flicking the switch up on the dash - which usually illuminates a green light on the dials and then i use the steering wheel button to set it.....but nothing happened! No light and therefore no cruise!! pushing the dash button down turns an orange light on (not sure what that does) but pushing up doesnt give me green!!

So bloody annoying on a long journey! Any ideas what it might be? and if so is the fix a warranty jobbie?

P.S. It was working again yesterday, but wasnt again this morning.

I'm pretty sure that when the brake light switch goes out of adjustment or is faulty, the green warning light will not illuminate because the cruise control is not working.

It is an easy fix you can do yourself if it needs adjusting, mine has done it twice in the 16 months i have owned the car, i am reluctant to take it to Renault as they always want the car the whole day, then there is the risk of them damaging it or some monkey taking it for a 'road test'.

The orange light tells you it is in speed limiter mode.

Sorry to bump an old thread but can anyone say how much the sensor is at Renault, if it's an easy DIY or how much they'd want to fit it at Renault?

Cheers.

Try adjusting it first and see what happens -

The brake switch is located at the top of the brake pedal lever, open your drivers door, get down on the floor on your knees, make sure car is out of gear and start engine (which will allow the brake pedal to travel further down because the servo is now operating), push the brake pedal down and hold it there, at the top of the pedal lever you will find a small pin switch, pull out the centre of the switch as far as it will go, it is on a ratchet so you will hear it clicking, then let the brake pedal up slowly to the rest posistion, that's it job done
