Cruise controll

  Yozza'd Titanium 182
ok the 182 i have has got cruise controll apparently on the steering wheel.

Im abit of a newb with the 182... erm

How do you use it?!

theres a button near you right knee, flick it,

One way will produce a green symbol on the dash, this is cruise control. where your mileage usually is it will say set. Using the +/- on the wheel set a speed. the car will always drive at this speed.

Flick th switch the other way you get a orange symbol, this is the better/more useful speed restrictor, set this in the same way, you can now drive as normal, but will never be able to accelerate past the speed you set. no matter how hard you smash the throttle.

The other button that produces a orange symbol is the ESP and this appear in a triangle on the dash.

read the manual thats how i found out :rasp:

There is a switch to the right of the steering column you need to flick it to get a green light come on the dash,
The button on the left of the wheel lets you set the speed and the one on the right seems to switch it on and off if I remember rightly. Think you have to push the button on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk first until you get the the "set" menu where the mileage is shown and work from there. No doubt someone else will come up with something more comprehensive!!

I find cruise control gives me slightly less MPG, but this is because the car is haveing to accelerate/brake itself to keep a constant speed.

But if u use the Speed restrictor i get more MPG!

Speed restrictor is safer that cruise control aswell, because you dont need to break because you can just let of the throttle if you need to slow ect.

When i bought mine the sales man tried to tell me what to do. I just looked at him like what??????. So he just left it. I read the book and tried it on the motorway. I shat myself as the traffic was stopped and i did not know what to do. So i slammed on lol.

I don't think the cruise control actually uses any more petrol than the speed limiter does providing it's set to a speed and left alone, and you're not constantly adjusting it (i.e; motorways). I certainly don't notice a difference when I use it.
The speed limiter is a lot more useful though, and gives very good MPG when used. I normally switch mine on when there's a lot of speed cameras about because I have a natural tendency to put my foot down a bit.

Cruise maintains your speed even if you don't touch the throttle. Speed limiter you still have to apply throttle, but it stops you going above a set speed.

If you push the throttle right down then it will go above the limit set for safety reasons. That's why right at the end of the throttle movement range you can feel a tension before you put your foot all the way down. Took me a while to work out what that was lol.

I find it gives me worse, but that's mainly because I find myself sitting @ 70 rather than creeping up to 100 as my foot gets heavier lol.

Yeh there is a point where you can push the pedal and when you reach this point you turn cruise control/restrictor off, I use my speed restrictor everyday nearly at 72mph and see a reading of 40+ MPG atm:approve: where as a few weeks ago when i was "in conrol" i was seeing 36 MPG :(

I used cruise control when i went to Hartlepool it returned 41.4 MPG @ 72 MPH. I have never tried limiter on a trip. When i go to Norfolk in a couple of weeks i will try them both.

im getting a tad confused with the limiter thing do you have to press a button down by the right of your knee first for that one?

Yeh flick it up you get a green icon (cruise control) flick it down you get a orange icon (limiter)

Set a speed with the +/- like you do on the cruise control.
