Cup starting issues

One of the little problems that's starting to bug me is an intermittent starting problem. Turn the key, all the dash lights come on and go out, go for the ignition and nothing happens (can hear a click from fuse box). Turn it off, on again and after 3/4 attempts it starts normally, first turn of the key. Any ideas?

No turning over at all? my initial guess would be coil pack or leads. Know how old the battery is?

When it doesn't fire, it doesn't get as far as turning over, just clicks like battery dead, but no dimming when headlights are on. This can happen once or a few times, then it just starts first time and runs fine, no other symptoms of duff cp or leads. Battery is a unipart one, no idea how old. Just tried to get back in the car and the keyfob battery is dead. Could this be related?

Yeah, could well be imobiliser stopping if it cant read the key
