De-Cats, a few q's

  Golf GTI PP Mk7
How irritating are they noise wise on long journeys? is it ear spliting?

Is it easy to swap them bk to standard for the MOT/ if not, how much would i expect to pay a garage to do it?

Is pro-speed the best one to go for? (£350ish all in)

thanks in advance chaps.

Lewis.

i assume you don't mean £350 for a decat pipe lol!!!!

lol, this is the response i got from them:

Hi Lewis

A de-cat pipe for your 172 will be £69.00 all inclusive of design fitting &
VAT

A de-cat back system with 2.5" jap slash tailpipe cut into the bumper will
be £328.00 all incl.

Please can you bring a 182 plastic surround with you...... you can get these
from your renault dealer. If you want me to get it, please give me a couple
of days notice to order it for you these are about £19.00

Please give me a call for an appointment 029 2046 1444

Cheers
Charlie

Is that a decat that cuts off the flanges of your current pipes?

If so it will not be easy to swap back and forwards come MOT time.

I ask because Powerflow quoted me a fairly cheap price but explained they'd have to weld it into the system.

Noise isn't ear splitting on long journeys at all, charlie put a resonance box on my de-cat which reduced the noise a bit.

Takes 10 mins to swap about at mot time.

I'm going on the fact that charlie (prospeed) did mine so unless he's changed his style it'd be the same.
