Decat Questions

  Bus Winker
My decat arrived today for my standard 182 exhaust. But I am having some really annoying problems fitting it.

1. I can't detach the sensor from the original cat. Should I plug the hole in the decat and unplug the cable and leave it in the original cat?

2. The spring bolts don't fit on the decat with the fire ring in. Should I remove the fire ring or not?

Thanks,
STRBramley

I would say no and no.

Car will run like crap with the lambda unplugged, and I'd say the exhaust will blow without the ring.

1. Man the fvck up/heat/pentrating fluid. (new one worse case)
2. What do you mean don't fit? The springs holding the bolts too far back? So so see above ;).

It's the post lambda sensor. I assumed this sensor only controller the emissions light whereas the pre lambda sensor controller fueling?

Thanks anyway. I'll have another go some time today.

Leave the front sensor plugged in, bung the second hole with relevant bolt. leave 2nd sensor wired in and cable tie it under the car somewhere. done.

shouldnt have bothered mate lol, car will run perfectly fine without the post cat lambda plugged in, all it does is records the data and reports back, doesnt affect fueling.

and yeh you need the fire ring there or itl just blow. might be worth just buying a new kit from renault, there about 30 quid but fit perfectly.

The post cat lambda isn't pluued in just secured using cable ties.

I got a new kit from Renault about a week ago as myold bolts and fire ring had worn and the cat was blowing.
