Difference between 1.8 16v and RSI??

  stan smiths
Hello just wondering what the difference is between the too if any at all??What power do they put out compared to williams??Cheers

RSi is 8v. Makes 110bhp IIRC and the valver makes 137. Williams is 150.

An rsi looks like a normal clio really. Not bad for what they are at all. They are colour coded & have alloys, no flared arches on them or 'that bonnet' though.

...and i speak from experience when i say that theres very little difference in running costs!

The Rsi is surprisingly good around town due to their mid range torque but the 16valvers are cheap enough now to make them a performance bargain! Just make sure thay any potential purchase has already had a clutch and steering rack change as theyre expensive jobs.

The RSI's have relly nice sideskirts that the valver's don't although I've rectified that problem on mine ;) (thanks diamondgeezer!)

Not 100% sure but I think valvers have a wider front and rear track than the RSI as well

Your correct, at least on the front. I think its just the case that it has wider rear wings rather than a wider track, although i might be mistaken.

clutch changes aren't bad on them...(and they'd be almost the same as doing an RSi clutch)

steering racks don't usually break; play in the steering is usually caused by the column and can be welded up for £not much

Valver's share the same track with all 'lower' clios - only the williams was widened

the rear is *slightly* wider I heard (track wise), and yes it has wider rear arches too
