DIY Windscreen Chip Repair

Has anyone used one of the DIY kits for repairing chips/cracks on the front windscreen?

Got abit of a small chip about 4-5mm wide and was wondering if the kits are any good or if they work at all?

Seen some on ebay for around £10 here.
And its cheaper than £60 odd for an autoglass call out?!

no it isnt. for repair of a chip you dont pay excess. u only pay excess for windscreen replacement.

tbh they work ok. just ensure you have a proper sharp stanley style blade to scrape any excess off with

you wont make the chip dissapear, you'll fill the hole so you cant feel it.

just keep the stanley brade upright at a 90 degree angle and scrape back n forwards, up n down til youve got off all the excess

Im not too fussed about it disappearing, because its not really that big, just want to make sure its not gonna get any worse really.
