Djw Johns terrible cars and his bad decisions regarding them

Got to the point where it's just the slave cylinder and selector to remove then unbolt the box and mount and it's out. I expect it to be really light and easy to remove....

I know you don't have to remove the struts but it's getting lowered so may as well do that just now too.

Im not sure how many nurses hands look like this though...

£480 deep into this. And still don't have a box 😂

Renault pricing continues to be mental.

Clutch £143
Slave cylinder £152

Front shocks £81
Top mounts £72

So clutch is coming from RPD (on 2 week back order) and other bits from Autodoc. Granted the shocks and mounts aren't really an issue but I'm putting eibachs on so may as well refresh it. Seeing as how I'm financially stuck with it forever now 😂

Can get the slave loads cheaper if you sniff round. I just found a meg 250 genuine slave for £30 new on ebay, same part number as traffic iirc

I share your pain with prices though. Im something stupid like £1300 deep in a clutch and bush change on my Kangoo, parts only. Everything seems to be expensive on the 2.0 turbo.

I'd like to take this moment to remind you that you let a perfectly good Leon go to embrace this utter pile.

I did do some other stuff before finding that, was just a pottering sort of day.

very shiny

Then spotted the difference and took them all apart for the f**king bump stops and s**t guards. Neighbours almost certainly heard me shout MOTHERFUCKER.

I also painted my wiper arms and scuttle. Fat lot of use that is, like putting lipstick on a pig. No pics cos I'd rather lost my mojo by then.

New one has arrived. More movement in it than I expected tbh but I've never seen any dmf before!

Finally some progress. It's been emotional. And tricky to fit into life.

Shiny new dmf

Clutch will go easy. Just hook up a large syringe to the bleed nipple on the slave and pull 30ml of fluid out and you will have a good enough pedal to drive straight away. They are piss easy not like mk2 meg which can be a c**t to do

I spoke to John yesterday and explained how much of a chuff it was to do on my 175, it seems to be the same setup🤣

Pressure and vacuum bled mine for 15 mins, nothing. Left it for 30 seconds, heard a big slurping noise and the pedal was mint🤣🤣

Hows the yellow Leon doing?
pretty well really, 136k now, had it over for a new washer pump whilst my bro was away so used it for the week. Probably shouldn't have sold it

Don’t think the icy will take that ginger bottle back now.

If that doesn't work then you're coming up to help me. Kthxbai

Does the clutch and/or DMF have a break in period? Might be worth checking before you give it some.
