Do i need camber shims or bolts?

  Not a 320d
I know i need bolts for my fronts to adjust the camber, but for my rears, do i need shims? Or just bolts?

Im sure it makes 0% difference but i have H&R coilovers fitted.

Got these parts from 197.net, what do the numbers mean?

7711160173 CLIO III REAR CAMBER SHIM 1 £18.80
7711160174 CLIO III REAR CAMBER SHIM 30 £18.80
7711160175 CLIO III REAR CAMBER SHIM 20 £18.80
7711160176 CLIO III REAR CAMBER SHIM 10 £18.80

Might only be for the clio 197/200, not sure if they will fit the MK3. I dont really want to go to the parts guy at Evans Hellshite, as he is a BASTART

only want to go low with your car ?

or do you want a car for fast corners ?

first check your setup and camber on the rear, then it might be interesting what kind of tires you want to drive.

With normal tires (non UHP or semis) there is no need to have much camber on the rear, for example with the Federal RSR or R888 it will be better to drive at least 1° at the rear and 1° - 1,5° at the front.

I am having PE2's fitted soon. 205/45/16. I would prefer a car which can corner well.

I dont know how much its lowered, but the car is on coilovers, i cannot adjust camber. I have had the toe setup. I will take your advice and have 1° on the rear.

My current camber is;

+0°27' front left

+0°05' front right

-0°50' rear left

-1°24' rear right

I need to have this setup however i must buy bolts for the front and shims for the rear.

I thought H&R's where fixed camber?

have you have the car tracking done, this should bring everything back in line

I was told they are not adjustable. I need bolts on the front and shims for the rears. I have had my toe done, but the readings camber wise did not change.

To set camber you will need the bolts as said above, and as you said the rears are not normally adjustable. If you want to get shims I would suggest you get a 10 minute shim for the rear left to bring it to -1° and get a 30 minute shim with the wider end at the top to bring the -1°24' back to just under -1° (-0°54') so they are about the same.

I've just had my full alignment done on Wednesday and had the camber of the fronts (with the correction bolts fitted) to -1°30' i.e -1.5°. Seems to be spot on in my opinion.

i would suggest the difference he has at the moment is down to a worn wheel bearing, i'd replace that first and check again

My rear camber on my MK3 is more or less the same as yours :s

Near side -1°25', off side -0°49' rear left.

That is pretty strange no? I wonder the reasoning behind this. I'm lowered too, but only -35mm.

The cars done 11,000 miles wtf? I hear no noise? Fred, that guy had no idea, he has experience with the 197 and The Cup Racer but not the MK3.

+ mine has a beam, not a torsion bar, so ive got no idea if those shims will fit or not. I may risk it.

@ EIID90.

Yeah, wierd lol, im suprised its so different on each wheel too.

Ill get some of those racer shims and try my luck although i know they wont fit. I desperately need new brake pads as those are completely gone now im sure of it, had a quick look tonight and i can see a small amount of perished brake pad left on the pad itself Fecking annoying too as i cat spend any money until the end of the month, as i havent got any.
