Does change to sports cat require re-map?

Hi guys - I'm looking to replace the original twin cats on my early 2002 172 Cup (I believe the twin cats were carried over from the Phase 1) and would like to know whether a re-map is required when changing to, say, a 200 cell sports cat with 2 lambda sensors? Any advice much appreciated.

I would say it’s not imperative to remap due to switching to sports cat. You might struggle at MOT time as others have reported.

I switched from a regular 172 cat to a Btb 182 cat mod and car ran fine on EFI’s rollers.
