Sacrificial Protection, one metal more reactive than the other,thus supplying ions to protect the least active metal. Used in North sea oil pipelines by bolting on lumps of more active ie zinc to less active iron to protect pipes.

Used for years

from most reactive to least reactive in the electro-potential series
K, Na, Ca, Mg, Al, Zn, Fe, Sn, Pb, Cu, Hg, Ag, Au.

Doesnt work for plastic wings

Use static protection instead!
