F4r or f7p/r hybrid?

  Kangoo 182
Ok so sat chatting to mate about clio sports and valvers and he asked which engine was better in terms of tuning? I said you can turbo, supercharge, itb both engines but I didn't know which was better overall. Any help?

Overall, the f4r is better for limited budget, but it depends how far you wish to go, ultimately you can get very big power out of both if you spend enough

They're both as bad as one another for "tuning" I'm afraid.

NA tuning is just expensive for not much gain.
FI tuning is better result for the money but more likely to shaft the gearbox.

F7 in a Mk2 would take some effort to make work depending on variant used especially when the F4 will just bolt in and has an exhaust that works.

You'll get the same from a F4R with money chucked at it too.

Not doubting that at all Ph1 Tom I was merely questioning the reason behind running the f7 in first place?

I was just highlighting the valve spring and bearing fact which is surely a advantage when comparing a standard f4 and f7?

Up to a certain point it might be an advantage I'm sure.

I suppose if you've already got a tuned F7 that over 200bhp or so then it would make more financial sense to keep that than tune the F4 up.
