false floors for ice install

hi guys as im a novice at ice installs i was wondering if some one could tell me how to build a false floor in my boot and fit an amp so it lays flush. i know you have to use mdf and battons but do you screw the battons bown or not?

Up to you tbh, I tend to screw the spacers down to the bottom half, helps to reduce rattles and then you know where they are.
