well im gonna buy one cos some knob jockey has put some scratches on the passenger side of my car, thing is thats the side that was freshly painted from my crash......

its in a small section about the size of a 1p and the scratches go in all different directions so ive no idea how it got there, presume it was some kid or some dick head messin around with my car ?

Brun - how well it works depends on the scratch or chip you are taking out and how careful you are. I was really impressed with how well it removed the key scratch on the bonnet, but the paint on the boot was thinner and it was much more difficult to sand the scratch out.

You basically use file wet & dry paper, along with cutting paste and a drill with their provided polish attachment on it. Def. worth a go providing the scratch hasnt gone through to the metal.

christ......wet and dry !!

the side my scratch is on was absolutely perfect, so im a bit dubious about sanding away at it !

if it definitely works though then ill give it a shot...

the thing is with the scratches i have mate there is quite a few in a small area....goin in diff directions too...how do you think it would cope ?

go to a body shop and ask em to stick a mop over it, should get it all out if not they will have super strong polish that will do it, most places do it for free, some will charge....

other choice is get some tooth paste and apply a small amount to the scratch acts as a stronger polish, then wax etc over the top.

will any drill do mate ?

i know my dads is pretty old and you cant alter the speed on it

Erm, not sure to be honest. I used a small electric drill / screwdriver with adjustable speed. After youve finished with the wet&dry you put cutting paste on the mop and use it to bring the shine. Its very effective and probably worth polishing the area with the mop/drill before attempting any repair.

Oh yeah, make sure you watch the video. Its only a few minutes long but essential viewing as you have to determine what type of scratches you have before attempting repair by a specific method.
