Feet heaters / blowers - cold feet

I've never had a problem before but driving home today in the 0c weather my feet where frozen, was having a look at the clutch pedal cable to see how it was linked the other day and thought I might have knocked something, but I haven't.

I see the outlet for the drivers side is about 4cm squared, its warm but doesn't seem to be pushing much air out? (on lower heat setting only) also sticking my head up behind the dash I see a letterbox sized hole which I think is sucking in the air for the heater? that's whats causing the cold feeling I think, the rush of air being sucked in.

I'm wondering if there's something wrong or has anyone else got the same problem?

get very chilly feet... :L i just wack it on full heat.. number 3 power, just on feet... then once its warmed up a little, turn down to 2 or 1 :) works for me.. :L

Wasn't on recirculate, but feels like the opening above the drivers pedals is sucking in a lot of air, could this be a stuck open re circulate flap?

Found the flap by reaching up inside the car above the pedals, recirculate flap was open, can feel the cold air rushing through which was why my feet where cold, have closed it...

But the recirculate button does nothing, left closed is fine for me, but is there any way to fix it?

Dont quote me on this, but i think its a motor that has gone, that opens the flap. ive been hearing clicking noises from mine when i press the button lately. have you had that? if so, mine is on its way out too.

Possibly mate, does anyone know if the motor that runs it can be fixed when the blower box is out of the car?

I haven't had any clicking mate no, I read in another thread when the fans are turned on or off the flap opens or closes? seems mine is stuck in open as I said I closed it but If it its going to open itself and keep getting stuck that way Its a pain in the arse.
