Few quick questions...

1.) I have a machine polisher from Halfords but its not a good one, infact its only really good for T-cut and a quick wax and buff it wont really do much for old paint, can I use my orbital sander to do a PC if I put it on the lowest setting and get some polishing pads or is that just the stupidest idea I've ever had?

2.) My car hasn't had any kind of a clean since October, and with the windows being permanently closed and the heating being on along with some big miles (/excuses) my car smells of arse. I've sprayed the seats with some Auto Glym interior shampoo and wiped them down with a cloth. Will this be enough to clean them out or would I be better off using a steam cleaner? How can I get the seats to dry out ASAP.

3.)Any idea's on how to sort out all the horrible bobbles on the 172 seats?

Bobbles, a cheapo bic razor. Shave the alcantara, and it comes off a treat! I've got plenty laying around if you want one posted!

I've never tried, but I'd expect them to be too harsh/get clogged.

As said, Bic razor for the bobbles. I wouldn't be using any sort of shampoo or soaking the the alcantara, just a damp microfibre/shamois leather should do the trick.
To help with the smell, get yourself an A/C bomb or some odour eliminator, along with a nice air freshener.

Probs not the best idea about the sander! There are some cheap-ish deals over on Cleanyourcar and i4detailing for some DA polishers if you wanted to do it yourself, or better still, get a local detailer/member to do it for you. It will probably save you time, money and effort in the long run.

Be VERY careful with a razor...yes, it's what i'd do, but get it wrong and you'll have a nice "slit" in your seats.

Re. Smell, sure it's not ur dreadlocks?!
