Finally decided to get a mac..never tried on in my life.

i was originally going to get a mini..the better spec model.

But im now undecided on whether to go for the basic macbook or for £100 more the basic imac or save a bit a just get the mini.

If i was to get the macbook id say 80% of the time id use it connected up to a 24'' monitor + keybaord.etc

being my first mac do you think a mini would be suitable?.

really indecided on what to do.

what would you guys get being a first mac?

Thanks

any mac is good.

Depends whether you will be using it outside your room.

I like having a laptop as I move around a bit and can use it in the livingroom and so on.

Issue with a macbook is you can only have one external monitor* (not including laptop screen)

I personally like a dual setup.

24", massive!!

yeah im leanin towards the macbook myself

I was planning on using a 30'' monitor with the mini or macbook....but ive only just found out that they dont support dual link..which is a shame for saying apple do there own 30'' cinema display.

So when you say one display you mean its not possible to span the desktop over the lappy screen and 24'' er.

Extended desktop, of course it's possible.

What I meant is, I would like 2 use external monitors with my macbook pro, but this is only possible with a special adaptor which is £180.

Macbook, or macbook pro the way to go !

You will like it

Ahh..though you meant one monitor was possible at one time be it the mac screen or external.

Thanks

er, you can have an extended desktop, or duplicated desktop :)

You could do that on your macbook, no problem

Macbook Pro without a doubt.. I loved mine.

Or, for desktop, Mini + Apple Display :)

Yeah id love one but far to much money for me at the minute.

Also being a first mac dont really want to be spending too much.

Yea, that's what I did.. I bought a Mini, used it for a month, before spending on a Macbook Pro..
