fitting a door guide

  Mazda3 2.2D 185BHP
hey

I have failed in my searching.

Does anyone have a link to guide that shows how to fit a door to a Mk2 172?
I have sourced some doors, and a boot lid to replace mine due to lots of dents and bad paint damage on the boot lid / doors.

My aim is to replace them before i get the car dipped. Or if it looks good (as most of the paint is damaged on just these parts) i may revert it all back to black.

Thanks all

Surely there's not much to it that will require a guide?

My only advice is to get someone like @Budgie who has taken apart more 172's than most of us have had hot dinners, I'm sure he'll write you something quick up.

It does look easy enough, But i tend to break things if i dive head in.
So if anyone has done it before and knows of any step that is delicate or needs extra care, let me know and i will be greatfull :D

Hi.

Yeah, doors are a bit of a fiddly one- mainly because of the weight of them.

It's as simple as it looks really - you just need the right hammer and punch to fit and the pin just taps out. From there, get someone to be holding the weight of the door- make sure they hold it level. Fitting - reverse of removal.

Great step by step, Mike. 🙈

Lol. Step one. Open door.
Step two. Unclip loom.
Step three. Remove door pins.
Step four. Remove door.

;)
