I know this has probably been covered before but here it goes
If you fit a set of genuine trophy recaros to a regular 182 will it put the air bag light on
If so why ?
Cheers

Yeah.
You can either program out the side airbags with clip or put resistors in the connector blocks like in one of the guides. Takes longer to wire in the pretensioners but the same resolution as the airbags if you choose not to plug them in

Airbag light is on as recaro don't have airbags. Car is expecting to see airbags, so light goes on as a fault.
Cars originally spec'ed with recaros , like trophies, where reprogramme by renault to not look for them.

That's the the reprog Graham's is talking about that can be done by a specialist or a spec'ed up Rs tuner if you choose to fit them. Or you go down the resistor route.

I'm down in Devon occasionally so can programme out the lights using clip if you fit them and are near to lympstone.

I used rstuner to remove the lights on mine. I fit a million different resistors and none of them cleared the light.
Im about to fit some recaros and would prefer to program out the seat airbags rather than using resistors. Ive got an RS tuner but I take it you need an airbag module. Could you talk me through it as I went to the fast chip website and there was 4 airbag modules for bosch 1.8 bosch 2.0 etc etc and Im confused as to what i need.
Cheers

I used a 3.3ohm resistor to turn my air bag light off when fitting my bucket seats.
Me being OCD would have done the reprogramming but then if you want to put the car back to standard then it is easier just to remove the resistor, thats what the thought process with mine were. Same with the steering wheel when I replaced that, as everything can go back to how it was.

I know BMW's are a little different and my mum's Mini needed reprogramming or something as the ressitor trick didn't work.
