Front Brakes SQUEEL at low speed

  2004 1.5 DCi 80 Dyna
My front brakes have plenty left on them but squeel very loudly when in traffic, happens in hot and cold weather.

also when you brake hard it feels 'spongy', not the pedal, thats fine, but the actual braking.

any ideas?

If all the system is bled and discs/pads are fine can't see whats wrong.

Although mine do the same, so I always give the pad area a hose down when I wash the car to get rid of any excess dust. Other than that it's just when they're cold, after just setting off etc.

One of my sliders was stuck solid so the brake was not full releasing on one side, causing it to squeal at lower speeds.

Easy to check, just take wheel off and check both sliders can retract fully.

bunch you can do, but probably as well to take them out and deglaze them on wet&dry; get rid of all the dust/muck, clean disc and maybe file any lip. put it all back together with a little copper grease and ensure they're not too tight a fit in the carriers
