Right a few months ago I had a sticking throttle problem and took it to diamond motors and got a new throttle pedal as that's what the problem was comin up as on the computer, noticed now when I've been driving and come to traffic lights etc to a stop car idles at just under 1k but it revs about 250rpm up and down on its own, does ut for about 10secs then is fine ,I got a small video of it doing it other day will post it up

Any help appreciated

Try giving the throttle body a quick clean? Thats the first thing that springs to my mind tbh

I cleaned it all out in December after the sticking throttle started :/ was spotless suppose I could try it again, I've got oulton park coming up on the 17th so don't want to be having problems

Hmm, maybe the TDC? I'd personally just go on a bit of a cleaning frenzy, do everything you can in the time you have

Check the map sensor you realy ned the car pluggin into the clip though.

Might be a wiring fault with the throttlee pedal as this causes the upping and downing of the revs.

The car was plugged in literally 2 weeks ago at diamond motors and came up saying throttle pedal so mick fitted a new pedal :/ so your guessing it's a wiring fault

Yeah did see the revs go up a bit. Have you spoken to Fred at btm? He's allways happy to help out

Have you got another throttle body you can swap on? Cleaning out would be my first suggestion as revs wandering is often down to it not responding quick enough but it could have an actual fault with it too.

Hate niggly problems like this, makes you wish you had a normal throttle!

As said in the other post Dan, drop her back and i'll take another look at it all as it was all fine last time it went on the CLIP.

My car sometimes does this on its own. You can start the ccar one day and it will be fine, then the next day it will rev itself :l

The little light comes on, its like the squiggle line in the middle of the dash?

Sometimes it revs to3k then falls down again...

No lights come on bud but it does do it one day then the next could be fine just jumps up that tiny bit

gave the throttle body a thorough clean and fitted the new coolent temp sensor seems to be a bit better when warm but still s**t from cold just does what ever it wants

Not quite the same problems as you but on my Cup the car wouldn't idle, had to keep revving the car otherwise it would cut out. I reset the throttle body by disconnecting via the plug, started the car and let it run for a minute, car will idle at 2k rpm IIRC, turned the car off, reconnected the plug and started the car again and it solved my issue. Something you could try?

What about the tdc sensor? Does it struggle to idle when cold and try and cuts out?

What's the tdc sensor? No never cute out always idles around 1k just jumps on cold and does what it likes, I'll try what you said Jon cheers

I replaced mine as sometimes it would be a pain to start and idle, kept cutting out, fine when warm though. Although I did go through a phase of replacing lots of things

try lubricating the throttle body rather than just cleaning it. the spindle needs to move smoothly and most solvents that you'd use to clean it will dry out and grease/oil thats there. a squirt of wd40 at each end of the shaft after cleaning might just help

applied wd40 mate, it seems to have sorted out when warm though when before i changed sensor it was playing up, still abit iffy from cold though, is that normal
