Gearbox issues????

Hello. I'm new to the forum. Just after a bit of of advise on my car. I have a Clio 200 cup which I brought about 3 months ago. When ever I come to use the car it won't go into reverse or 1st and any other gears. After many attempts it will intermittently go into gears. Once I get the car into reverse and move it off the drive it seems to be fine. Have a look at the vid I took. Anybody else have these issues with these cars as it takes minutes each day until I can move it off my drive

The gearboxes are poor on these cars with Numerous ones being replaced - they are also generally poor cold-

If its still under warranty get it into Renault to investigate

Can anything help with the issues from cold, better gearbox oil? I've been quoted £1500 from Renault for a new gear box just by explaining the issue over the phone and that's with 50% off due to age and mileage!!! I was just trying to find out if is the likely cause of the issue before spanking £1500

Is it in warranty or not? Mines in repair right now with same issues, they advised new box. Ring RUK and try to knock them down as much as poss. I got quoted £1974 but got it down to me paying around £600. Hope you get it sorted mate, I know the feeling well.

Mines not in warranty but it's only covered around 20k. Let us know how u get on with urs and out of curiosity what's the age and mileage of ur car? Also do u have a telephone number for RUK or is it easy to find?

If you bought the car from a dealer or trader then they HAVE to LEGALLY foot the bill for any repairs upto 6months from purchase date!!

I appreciate what your saying Fred, but telling who I bought the car from that renault has offered to pay 70% of the bill kind of makes it out to be their fault not the dealer really. Still waiting for final bill to be recieved but will contact the dealer that sold me it to try and get something back.

I'd still be looking for the dealer to pay the outstanding balance if you purchased it from a trader recently.
