Gearbox Selector oil leak

Can anyone help me with a Gearbox Selector seal which is leaking oil, i took my 172 down to my local mechanic and he says that Renault don't sell the part anymore to replace a faulty gearbox selector seal. If anyone could tell me how to acquire one i would be most grateful, its a 2004 clio sport 172, thanks Dave.

If its only a small leak then just leave it, pretty much a standard feature on these cars. Just top the gearbox oil up now and again.

Gearbox out job to do properly iirc.

There was a French kit knocking around a while ago, but it was shite as far as i know. Can't remember the name of it.

Those kits wether from renault or TND are utter crap.

From what I understand, the problem stems from a bush that the selector shaft runs through. Once worn it allows the shaft to move enough that the seal wears and leaks. Replacing just the seal will only stop the oil leak for a short time.
