Getting door handles off

  Renaultcliosport 197
I have a Renault clio sport 197 and want to spray my door handles black but Iv had a look and can't figure out how to take them off!!
anyone have any idea how to take them off??

Theres a guide on it somewhere on Clio197.net i think, here you go (very similar to how the audi do it.)

http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?3603-Exterior-handle-removal

1. Remove this black grommet, inside the hole is the head of a 30 torx screw, turn this anti-clockwise, it doesnt come out fully your just moving a piece inside in the door so you can remove the small piece of the outer handle.

2 With the screw fully turned the outer piece should slide out very easily, if you need to pry it out do it like in the pic as the plastic will stop you marking your paint

3. The inside mirror cover will just pull straight back, grab it were the green arrows are,if its stiff and you got to pry it use a cloth to portect your paint(the cloth will be in action later)

4. Remove the 30 torx screw behind the inner handle

5. Remove the 2 20 torx screws at the bottom of the panel..(just realised i put the arrow on the right in the wrong spot but you get the idea)

6. At the bottom of the grab handle theres a slot to put your screwdriver into, first pull towards you to release the first few clips then you need to pull it to the right.undo the 2 30 torx screws

7. Remove speaker grill, cloth is there so you dont mark/scratch the silver finish.

8.Remove 2 20 torx screws, then the speaker then the 2 20 torx screws holding the panel to the door

9. Pry up the window switches.

10. Panels ready to come off, in the bottom left corner pry out the door,(note the cloth to protect paint) you should hear a couple of clips poping free now use your hand .pull the bottom of the panel out first working up to the glass, when all the clips are free the panel hooks up out of the window rubber.

11. Pull the wiring for the switches etc tru the holes in the panel and pull the lock cable holder off the back of the handle, when re-fitting this make sure the handle is pushed fully in before you click it back on or else the cable wont locate properly

12. Dont rip off all the foam inside the door on the right theres a piece that you cut with a blade as in the pics, make sure this is well taped back into position to stop water leaks etc

13. This the view tru that foam up at the inside of the handle the metal piece is the levers counterweight,it needs to be lifted and slide it to the left while the outer handle is been pulled to release the outer handle(best thing is to get someone to pull the outer handle while you move the counterweight around)

14. the handle then swivels on the front piece then pull it straight out.

JOB DONE! and as the say re-fitting is opposite of removal
