haynes manual has confused me

it says that the manafacturer will not only any enine types other than c to have the cylinder head skimmed. does that mean i cant skim the head of my 1.4.

you can slightly skim the heads on older clios (energy engines). not sure on the maximum allowed though and you can do it only once.
