Hello - advise on purchasing a 2nd hand GT

Hi,the misses wants something quicker and safer than her ageing Ford Ka and I remembered how good the Sport models were but now after some research we've come across the GT128 which looks ideal,cheaper insurance (in fact same grp7 as her Ka) and not soo crazy fast.I'm amazed at all the positive reviews on Parker site and I've over the net in general and I wanted to get any views/opinions from those in the know about one as a future new car.
We're looking at ideally 2008 and younger and no more than say £9k. Looking private or dealer.
Are there any pitfalls to these cars at all?!!
I've noticed disappointment compared to the sport like the spongy clutch and no guts low down but she's coming from ford ka so I think she'll be happy.
I've searched 'Renault GT128 problems' and looks like everyone's happy with them and never had an issue!

Go for the diesel mate, much better on fuel, bags of torque and generally nice to drive, effortless around town and on motorways

I love mine I've had no problems with mine it is petrol mine is a 10 plate and i paid 8k a year ago so you should get a real decent one if you have 9k. Great car not the fastest no but looks good and the interior especially the seats i think look better than a full sport IMO
