Hiii.. Question for top dog Clio fan

Hi there.

I've had a peugeot 106 since I passed my test in 2009.. I had a gti for a bit but wanted something more reliable.. As it broke on me and didn't want to put anymore money into it.

Made a big mistake and got a new vauxhall corsa Sri on finance

The most heaviest slowest cars ever!

Looked nice mind lol

I'm doing my best to get rid of it as I miss power and the fun of driving I want that back.

I've fallen in love with these clips 182 in the baby blue Ish colour they are lush.!!

Question is who can tell me the genuine truth about them. They look good but how do they drive ? Are they quick? Are they quicker than a 106 gti? ( if you know of course)

Your honest truth will be highly appreciated .. Is it worth slashing out or just go back to a 106 gti

106 Gti is a very fun car but so is the clio.

Clio obviously has more power etc but you need to drive one before you make up your mind.

For the money, I think you'll get a better 182 than a 106.

The colour you like is called Racing Blue or more commonly RB.

This is a Clio forum, so there will be some bias. I have owned a couple of Saxo VTS's (Same as 106 GTi) and prefer the Clio.

Quicker at top end for sure, arguable at lower speeds. But the clio is better equiped, better built and a little more comfortable.

If i was you i'd get rid of the corsa and get a clio only as im biased.

There great little cars for the money, quick, good handling, easy to maintain etc.

If you do go down clio route make sure the belts have been done as its circa 500notes to change.

My 172 Cup leaves my mates 106 GTI, so does my other pal's Mk 5 fiesta with a 1.7 puma lump!

Down a country lane, I reckon the 106 might win, anywhere else though the clios extra power will show.

clio is a relatively luxurious place to be too. great all rounders.

Trophy is nicer suspension and seats and lower spec for other bits like the lights.

Cup is a nice compromise, but TBH there really isnt a huge amount you would notice between them all, all the 182 are roughly the same in real terms.

There was a thread a while ago about 106 Vs clios.

On here it was 106 > clio
And on the 106 forum it was clio > 106 somehow!

Clio wins imo though!

Yes there is, main thing being the Trophy was only in red had special Suspension and Recaro Seats as standard.

The 182 cup has less toys (lighter) but could also be specced with teh seats.

Dam if trophys are only in red that's a right kick.

If anyone knows anyone after a red corsa D with white stripes and white wheels.. Let me no.. Must get rid of it!
