  E91 M Sport

Is this

a) not ideal
b) very bad
c) the person with this tyre will burn and die soon...

Im not sure what caused this, but it has split the rubber, but I can not see any metal, etc.

This in need of replacement? (if yes, please answer my Fulda thread... ;))

Cheers,

defo get that replaced, think about if your doin 70 on the mway and go over a big stone/small rock or somethin, might be enough pressure to rip it open properly

looks like its been slashed to me
I had a small encounter with a kerb that didnt like me the other day, but I thought Id only scratched the splitter - unusual to have such a clean cut and no kerbing on the rim.

if its not showing cord it will be ok... but not ideal. mot will fail if cut longer than an inch. cant tell from the pic mate.

tyres are designed to take much more strain these days mate. you may encounter a problem if you actually hit the same spot again... then you would be in the sh#t... best advice is to change but you are in no danger fron normal driving if you are certain no cords are visible when pulled right back. look with a torch...

Not worth taking the risk - Id change it.

Same happened to one of my rears after only 1500 miles - was gutted, not a clue how it happened, mustve been a pothole cos Im the only one who drives my car and I hadnt curbed it. Its not worth risking yourself for the sake of a new tyre. :(

My cousin had a badly kerbed tyre, you could see the inside a bit, he crashed his car and died about 3 weeks after my dad had a go at him about it.

There is a slight kerb mark on the rim just above it isnt there?
Thats an old kerbing mark, very dirty, and the cut has only happened in the last 2 weeks (max.)

I agree with what you all say, definitely no point ending my life early over the sake of a couple of hundred quid!
