How hard to remove the rear bumper to remove exhaust?

Wanting to take the rear bumper off, how hard is it? Any guides?

Planning to take the orginal exhaust off as it's one peice and in good nick.

Easy

Remove the rear lights (wing nuts inside the boot)

Two bolts under the rubber trim near the lock torx style

10mm bolt under each side of the rear wing (behind the liner iirc)

Some have bolts under the bumper near the impact beam, some dont.

You need to jack the car up fairly high too, undo the dampers and drop the axle down to allow the exhaust to pass over it.

Its pretty easy tbh, Ive done a few. just needs some twisting!

It was a bit of a ball-ache on mine, but mini-valver got there in the end with it. Thats my car all over though...awkward b**ch!


As said, trick is to get it's ass high.

Bumper is a piece of piss to get off exhaust will be more fun, removing the heatshield where it goes over the beam gives you a lot more room to get the exhaust through and stop the centre box from getting stuck.

Make sure you've got some exhaust silicone for the cat to centre joint or you'll never get it to seal.

Have to be careful not to damage the paint leaving it on though, would be a far easier job on a ramp for sure.

I cut mine off, was far less hassle. Renault do a jointing sleeve for it also so must be common!

Renault do the sleeve as thats what renault do when they screw you over for an oem backbox or centre section. Definetly worth the effort to get it off in a onner if you can.

get it as high as it will go with the dampers unbolted, then slide it out, twist 180deg and slide it the rest of the way out. normally get one off in 10-15 minutes on the ramp on my own (bit frigging heavy getting it outthe last bit on your own at full height on a 2 poster I have to admit)

Couldnt fit the OMP without taking th rear bumper off, it just would go in

yeah obviously lol, just get it up nice and high so the axle drops RIGHT down

Taking the bumper off mine made it a million times easier from where i was standing. Not that I was f**k all use....:S

Could do it in 15 minutes on stands if you know to drop the axle and remove the bumper, comes out prett easy then. If you get it on stands, drop the axle, then cant get it out because the bumpers in the way, you'll just get pissed off, lol.

clears by a mile if you turn it upside down when you're half way out

So jack up as high as poss, undue dampers, drop the rear axcel, then pull exhaust out, twist 180 and jobs a good un?
